one month down..

..eleven to go. I know they're going to be gone in a blink, because that's exactly what happened in 2025.

I remember how I felt this time last year -- rested, excited and honestly, a little bored! Things don't really pick up for us until Spring outside of a couple of agility trials and some new-for-2026 NASDA and Barnhunt events, so the boys and I have been hunkered down, enjoying winter.

I always get to feeling a little cocky during these "down months" -- I consider picking up knitting or printing again, like I'm not going to be on the road for 25+ weekends out of the year. I've been doing my best to distract myself from picking up any old hobbies by spending lots of time with the boys -- playing around in the studio, playing with all the new agility equipment we got over Christmas and hiking when the temps aren't sub-zero.

But even with all the rest, it was a productive month -- I officially dropped down to part time at my "day job" to focus more on Oddpaw, covered a great agility trial early in the month and got to catch up with lots of UKI friends, and ran Alfie in our most "successful" fun run to date! I met with a few event spaces and finally nailed down an amazing location for a couple of pop up events this year. We got a great snowstorm. And my husband and I pretty much finished up a minor-but-much-needed refresh of our living room. So, lots of forward motion all around.

January also marked the beginning of working with Wild at Heart Pet Company to photograph and promote some of their toys, so the photo dump from this month is heavily features their toys! The foxy bungee is probably Arbus' favorite thing ever, and the Wild Rings bring out an absolute insanity in Alfie that I've never seen before! 😂

They also have some really cool new foam frisbees and their custom recycled canvas tug leashes are probably one of my top 5 Dog Purchases -- EVER.
