a perfect gift for mother..

Ever since our single successful FETCH run last year at Klimb 2025, I've been looking for a couple trials to wrap up Alfie's Novice title. He's the furthest thing from a sport dog, but we have a lot of fun earning those "lower-impact" titles like his Trick Dog and we've honestly put together a really nice routine with his "Corndog"!

Unfortunately, everything I could find close by would overlap with a weekend where I'm out of town covering some other event, so when I saw this one in Broken Arrow the day after Valentines Day, I jumped on it!

The whole Oddpaw gang made a whole trip of it, heading down early Saturday to spend the day doing a little shopping and sightseeing -- I had a mini session booked in the afternoon and we found the most amazing location where I got some really great shots of the boys (AND some absolutely stunning work of a trio of brothers who really wow'd me during the aforementioned minis!) and we made an obligatory trip to boba shop/mall trip. Then we leaned into the Valentines Day theme big time with steaks & LUSH face masks at the hotel for some maximum relaxation before the trial on Sunday.

I had a really good time going to an event as an exhibitor, and it's always fun to see how things feel "on the other side of the lens." Alfie still gave me two really clean runs (despite the fact I needed THREE re-throws 🤦‍♀️ Someone needs training, and it ain't the dog) and pending AKC approval, he is now Alfalfa Slim TKN DCAT FTN! I'm still waiting for official event photos (ugh, how do you guys do it?!?), but you can check out a video of both his runs down below.

Our next trip is another Business/Pleasure double whammy down in Springfield, Missouri the weekend of February 28th-March1 -- I'll be covering the Ozark Mischief Barnhunt Spring Trial while Arbus & ArbDad continue their journey through Open and I have a sneaking suspicion that the trial site will be more than perfect for some mini sessions!
